Fernando Vázquez met with the press to preview the game that Real Mallorca will play tomorrow away to Girona and made sure to mention that the opponent “plays well at home, they have a lot of talented players and technically-gifted players, especially the middle.” On that note, the coach pointed out that Girona “is a team that is taking advantage of their good form, and their system is difficult to counter against. I applaud the season that they have had thus far.”
The Galician tactician reassured the fans that the team is going to Girona “Only thinking about winning,” a result which would make “the situation easier and give us more peace of mind.” He also announced that Costas is not in the squad because, “it is difficult to evaluate whether he is fit enough to contribute at this end-stage of the league,” and because Yuste has been solid in the heart of the defense, where he “distributes the ball well and has a very strong tactical acumen. He has had big games, and his traits adapt well to the position, he is a center back at this level.”
Vázquez confirmed that “I did not sign up for a tie. But if we go the whole 90 minutes trading blow for blow, I don´t want to lose” and, finally, he recognized that last week´s win “was a release for the team. They have been training with more joy and fluidity.”
