Steve Kerr joins the shareholders of RCD Mallorca

The legendary head coach becomes a part of the club with his acquisition

We are delighted to welcome legendary NBA head coach Steve Kerr as a shareholder of the club.

The current head coach of the United States’ basketball side and the NBA’s Golden State Warriors joins our ownership group following a shareholder restructuring in early July which saw Andy Kohlberg become the majority owner.

"I am a friend of Andy Kohlberg and we were together this summer,” Kerr told club media. “He told me that there has been a change in ownership and offered me the option of being part of the new investment group.

“I am very motivated, I was in Mallorca last summer watching a game, supporting the team and becoming a fan. It's a very exciting opportunity.

"I became a fan of RCD Mallorca last year and now being involved in the club I will be watching all the LaLiga games. It's quite motivating and not just from a shareholder point of view, but with everything that comes with putting your heart and being part of the club and that's exciting."

The nine-time NBA championship winner will bring a wealth of experience to the boardroom following a visit to the island over the summer and joins another legend of the sport, Steve Nash, as a shareholder of the club.

"It's a big step forward,” Kohlberg told club media. “When he came a year ago and spoke to the players, he had a big impact and I loved hearing messages about the importance of the team and the involvement of everyone, starters and reserves, and how they need to be prepared. They loved it and Steve enjoyed it."

Welcome to the island, Steve!
