Mateu Jaume and Jagoba Arrasate analyse the defeat to Olympique de Lyon

Find out what the defender and boss had to say about the loss

Mateu Jaume and Jagoba Arrasate assess what was learned from our pre-season defeat against Olympique Lyon.

Mateu Jaume

On the defeat: They were better than us and I think it should help us to pick up on the things we need to improve.

On the second half: We have adjusted four things, we have put a little more intensity, we have stopped complaining and at the end we have been more like protagonists with the ball.

On pre-season: The positive thing is that we are in pre-season and that losing will help us to take out the bad things to improve them and polish the positive ones. This is very long.

Jagoba Arrasate

On defeat: It hurts even though it's pre-season. We played a very bad first half. Above all, we were very out of sync and we have to correct that now. We're in pre-season, but we're also practically two weeks away from the start of the league. We made things very easy for ourselves. In the second half the team was better, but we took a lot of homework with us today.

On the second half: In the second half we set ourselves the challenge of thinking we were 0-0 and trying to win or at least not lose. We played more in our opponents' half, we had better ball control, we defended better. We can take things from the second half, but what we have to analyse is why we made it so easy in the first half.

On Parma Calcio: The idea tomorrow is to have a different eleven and for people to accumulate minutes against a different but demanding opponent like Parma. That's what we need: to make it difficult for them, to correct and improve for the rest of the game.
