Pre-season match report: RCD Mallorca 0-4 Olympique de Lyon

We fell to a disappointing loss in Austria

We suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat against Olympique de Lyon in our second pre-season friendly fixture in Austria.

Jagoba Arrasate continued to rotate his side to give minutes to as many players as he opted for Leo Roman in goal and Leo Lucas in defence, while Illiesse Salhi, Vedat Muriqi and Javi Llabrés were named in attack among the changes.

Abner Vinícius gave Olympique de Lyon the lead inside 15 minutes when he struck inside the box after a cross had been put into a dangerous area.

Georges Mikautadze gave us an early warning of what was to come when he forced Leo Roman into a smart stop shortly after.

The French side doubled their lead in the 19th minute when the Georgian raced through on goal and found the back of the net.

Abner Vinícius made it three in the 28th minute when he latched onto Kumbedi's cross and fired home from close range.

Khalis Merah added the fourth nine minutes before half-time after he reacted first to an initial save from Leo Roman.

Dani Rodriguez had a handful of chances as we looked for a way back into the game before the break, but we went into the dressing room with it all to do in the second half.

We were much improved after we managed to regroup as Arrasate made various changes to give players minutes with Pablo Torre, Martin Valjent and Johan Mojica among those to enter the fray.

Jan Salas, Toni Lato, Marc Domenech and Omar Mascarell would also later get minutes, but we had little sight of goal and were unable to get a goal back as we fell to a tough loss.
