RCD Mallorca announces strategic agreement with Schwarz Group

The German group's companies, PreZero and XM Cyber, will support sustainable management of recycling and the improvement of cybersecurity

We are delighted to announce a strategic agreement with Schwarz Group’s companies PreZero and XM Cyber.

The collaboration is unprecedented in LaLiga and aims to make Estadi Mallorca Son Moix the first zero waste stadium in Spain.

This long-term collaboration also seeks to raise awareness among RCD Mallorca fans about the importance of the circular economy and cybersecurity.

Through this cooperation agreement, RCD Mallorca will be the first LaLiga team to implement such transformation plans.

LaLiga provides its partner clubs with financial resources for infrastructure projects, much of which is earmarked for sustainability and digitalisation.

Football joins forces towards zero waste

PreZero, one of Europe's leading environmental service providers, will optimise RCD Mallorca's waste management. PreZero will help us tackle the goal of zero waste and promote a more sustainable consumption of resources in sport.

"We want to leverage our strengths together and set an example for a more responsible consumption of resources, both for sport and for society," explains Wolf Tiedemann, CEO of PreZero International. "We are proud to start working closely with RCD Mallorca. Together with the club and its season ticket holders and fans, we want to raise awareness of the circular economy and thus the conservation of natural resources."

The aim is to prevent and reduce waste generation at the Mallorcan club's stadium and create opportunities for reuse and recycling. The island of Mallorca, whose environmental targets are among the most ambitious in Europe, is an ideal place to define new environmental standards in sport. "This agreement is a starting point on the road to zero waste for professional soccer in Spain," says Gonzalo Cañete, CEO of PreZero in Spain and Portugal. "We share with RCD Mallorca its commitment to become a global benchmark in environmental sustainability for the entire sports industry."

Strong defense even in cyberspace

In addition to its partnership in recycling management, we will also use the cybersecurity solution from XM Cyber, a subsidiary of Schwarz Digits, the IT division of the Schwarz Group. "Football clubs enjoy a great deal of trust from their members and fans, who provide them with personal data and often interact with each other very frequently, also via digital media," explains Rolf Schumann, co-CEO of Schwarz Digits.

"Appropriate protection of confidential data and the entire IT infrastructure is essential to maintain this trust. We are therefore delighted that RCD Mallorca attaches the necessary importance to this issue. With XM Cyber, the club has made a stellar signing for digital defense." XM Cyber's CTEM (Continuous Threat Exposure Management) system will enable RCD Mallorca to continuously monitor its IT infrastructure for potential weaknesses. This solution also prioritises vulnerabilities based on their criticality, even in hybrid environments, thereby saving resources and creating a new level of cybersecurity.

"We are delighted to announce this strategic partnership with the Schwarz Group and that PreZero and XM Cyber will become official partners of RCD Mallorca. Our club is immersed in an important process of growth and internationalization and this agreement is another big step on our way. This alliance shows that RCD Mallorca is doing things right and attracting the interest of important international entities. The long-term collaboration will be the start of a common path in the areas of resource conservation, recycling management and digital security," explains Andy Kohlberg, President of RCD Mallorca.
