Official Statement

RCD Mallorca would like to inform about the situation that occurred yesterday in the North West Stand of the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix in the run-up to the LaLiga fixture against Real Betis.

For security reasons and following the instructions of the National Police, the vast majority of visiting fans who had purchased tickets at the stadium were relocated to the Tribuna Oeste Norte area, next to the official away stand.

This decision affected 43 RCD Mallorca season ticket holders. The club is aware of the disruption caused by this situation and for this reason wants to clarify what happened:

- In the build-up to the fixture, a high number of ticket purchases (960) geolocated in Seville, the visiting team's city, were identified. Despite representing only 3.7% of the total capacity, the club immediately informed the National Police.

- The Estadi Mallorca Son Moix has an area assigned for visiting fans. It is located in the Tribuna Oeste Norte. The occupancy rate during the matches is 60%, being a grandstand sized for the volume of visiting fans.

- For security reasons, once the stadium gates open, the Security Coordination of the National Police took the decision to relocate all Betis fans to the Oeste Norte Grada. They are placed in the area where the visiting fans are usually placed, but expanding that space due to the large number of supporters, around 1,200. The National Police assigned that location for being the closest to the visiting stands and for having a smaller number of RCD Mallorca season ticket holders. The club cooperated and put itself in the hands of the competent authority following their instructions.

- RCD Mallorca, in turn, reinforced the area with private security and during the match there was no official record of any incident affecting any attendee at the stadium.

The club will take measures to resize the away stand for those occasions that may require it and will continue to work with the National Police to prevent such situations from recurring in the future.

The club would like to thank once again the exemplary behaviour of the Mallorquinista fans during the match against Real Betis Balompié and apologises for the inconvenience caused to our fans.
