A brace from Javi Llarbes and Dani Rodríguez’s strike saw us advance to the next stage of the Copa del Rey with a 3-0 win against Valle de Egüés.
Javier Aguirre rotated his side and handed a debut to Iván Cuéllar in goal for the fixture while a number of academy graduates were included among the substitutes.
The hosts had a good spell of possession during the opening stages of the fixture, although Dani Rodríguez and Abdòn Prats came close to opening the scoring with a pair of half chances.
We took the lead in the 39th minute when Dani Rodríguez latched onto Manu Morlanes’ pass and found the back of the net to ensure we headed into the break ahead.
Daniel Luna came close to doubling our advantage after the restart, but his effort flew over the bar from close range.
Llarbes put further distance between us and the hosts when he added our second of the evening in the 56th minute with a composed finish.
Our winger completed the scoring when he latched onto Gio Gonzalez’s long ball forward and beat the on-rushing goalkeeper to make it three and ensure we headed into the next round of the competition in style.
