Match Report: Levante UD 2-0 RCD Mallorca

Goals from Carlos Espi and Kevin Arriaga saw us fall to a tough defeat

Goals from Carlos Espi and Kevin Arriaga saw us fall to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Levante UD in our penultimate game of the season.

The result now sees our survival in LaLiga go to the final day of the season.

Martin Demichelis opted for David Lopez at centre back with Samu Costa, Manu Morlanes and Sergi Darder making up the midfield.

Despite a positive start with Johan Mojica getting particular joy on the flank, we went a goal down in the 32nd minute when Espi finished well.

Zito Luvombo would have our best chance of the first half to draw level but we unfortunately went into the break behind.

Vedat Muriqi would go close after the break as we continued to create in the final third as Levante UD’s defence held firm.

There would be late drama as Mojica and Bruge received their marching orders after a VAR review.

Arriaga doubled the hosts’ advantage late on to put the game beyond doubt.
