Campabadal: “Staying in this league is possible, but we must achieve it”

The outside back has recognized a more jovial locker room since the win against Tenerife.

Eduard Campabadal met with the press after training this morning and noted that the team is anxious to play because “staying in this league is possible and it is up to us to achieve it.” That said, the Catalan defender recognized that the team has regained some confidence after the victory against Tenerife, “the locker room is more jovial. We took three points that were vital to our objective. If we can win in Girona, it will be a really important step towards staying put in this league.”

The right back is convinced that if the team plays like it knows how to and gives everything, that staying in this league is more than a possibility, “we will go to Girona to win three points like we ride out to all the games, but no matter what, we must score.”

In what some refer to as pressure, Campabadal declared that there is pressure “in each and every type of work,” but he made sure to note that it “it improves one´s quality of play. And when you do well, you do so with confidence, and that is when we are capable of doing anything.”

The player also pointed out that even though the team is notoriously stronger in the confines of the homely Iberostar Stadium, the visit to Girona is a good opportunity to break the trend, “Let´s see if we can go out and get something from Girona.”  Personally, the Catalan feels “recharged. We have spent all season in the dark, not knowing whether we will stay or go, but now, we are close to salvation. Physically we feel very good, so we want to clinch our survival as soon as possible.”

Finally, the energetic right back re-affirmed that the team has not thought about relegation, “the team we have is not meant to drop down” and, to maintain balance, he noted that the team, “never wanted to fight for this, we wanted to be higher.”
