Vedat Muriqi, Pablo Torre, Antonio Sánchez and Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media after our 2-2 draw with CA Osasuna. Find out what the trio and the boss had to say about the result:
Vedat Muriqi:
On the game: A bittersweet day for me. We scored two goals in four minutes against an Osasuna side that was playing very defensively. I feel it, and we feel it as a team. We're going to analyse our mistakes and move on.
On the goals conceded: Until the 82nd minute, it seemed like we were doing well; they were just trying to cross the ball. They scored from a free kick to make it 2-1, and then they started to dominate us. We had to hold on and play with the ball more. It felt like we were down a man.
On scoring eight goals this season: I feel bittersweet. I took things poorly, especially when we were winning 2-0... I'm not complaining; goals are important for a striker. I'm valued for my goals, but as we saw today, we need much more.
Pablo Torre:
On the draw: We're hurting, it's hard to accept. I think that's football, I don't know what happened, I don't know what to tell you. Football is like that, it can surprise you.
On what is next: We have some important matches coming up, and it's true that we did some things well, but we have to look at what happened. An important month is coming up, and we have to be aware that we have to give it our all and we can't relax for a second. It's a shame, I apologise to the fans, and we need to figure out what happened, improve, and move on.
Jagoba Arrasate:
On the match: It's a tough blow. We were managing the game well, given how evenly matched it was, and when you do the hardest part... to concede an equaliser in the final minutes really hurts. We need to analyze why and keep improving.
On what was behind the draw: Up until 2-1, the game was well played. After that goal, you start to feel a bit of fear, and it gave them the confidence to come back. And that's when, in those final minutes, you concede crosses and corners, and what happened can happen.
ON Virgili's change at halftime: We have that option, and it allows the full-back to not be so focused on one player and change those situations. Bretones was on a yellow card, and we thought Jan could cause problems, which he did.
On Virgili and Muriqi: The team's attack is putting up numbers and they're making their presence felt. That's good news, but it's a shame we can't capitalise on the good work the attackers have done.
On upcoming matches: This disappointment has to last only a few hours because tomorrow we have to start thinking about Numancia, on Monday we travel to Soria for a very important cup match, and then on Friday we go to Oviedo with everything that entails. We can't stop here, we have to keep going.
Antonio Sánchez:
On the result: Disappointed because with very little time left we had a two-goal lead. They, through sheer persistence, got what they wanted, which is to snatch something from the game. We are disappointed.
On a complete performance until the 2-1: That's true. We were doing a good job, and the free-kick goal affected us more than it should have. On the pitch, and watching the replay, we don't think it was a foul, but it shouldn't affect us that much. What happened after that, however, is unacceptable.
On this month: We had today circled in red on our calendars. We wanted to take the three points and leave them behind, a direct rival in the fight we're in now. We have to correct these kinds of mistakes that don't usually happen to us, and then it's time to rest. Tomorrow we'll start thinking about the cup match, where we also want to perform well.
