Take Kubo: ‘I’m enjoying watching how the team play’

The winger spoke to club media prior to our 1-1 draw with Sevilla on his recovery from injury

Take Kubo believes there is plenty for fans to be excited about with regards to club form as he steps his return from injury.

The winger is currently going through the recovery process from an injury sustained against Real Madrid earlier in October and says he is still getting used to watching the team from the sidelines.

"When you're injured it's difficult,” he told club media. “Besides, for me it's the first injury I've had since I've been playing football, since I was a little boy. At Mallorca, people treat me well and I also enjoy watching the team's games. The truth is that I like playing football more than watching it.

“That's clear to me - I enjoy and suffer. Now I understand the fans more, how they watch the matches. Now I see it as just another fan and I enjoy it, but when the team is going badly, I suffer.

"The fans may think that what matters is the result but, in the end, what matters is how the team is playing. I think that will give us more points in the end. We are playing very well and I think the wins will come."

With plenty of football still to be played, Kubo’s spell on the sidelines has given him pause for reflection on the season so far.

"The injury hurt me a little bit, because up to that point I was playing well and felt comfortable,” he continued. “I think I was having a good season, and when I recover I will try to help the team."
