Javier Aguirre: The team responded

The boss reflected on our 3-3 draw with Real Valladolid

Javier Aguirre spoke to the media after our 3-3 draw with Real Valladolid. Kike Perez opened the scoring before Muriqi levelled after the break. Morlanes then put us ahead for the first time five minutes later before Selim Amallah equalised. The hosts thought they had found a late winner when Monchu struck with four minutes left on the clock, although Murqi hit the target again to secure a dramatic point. Find out what the boss had to say below:

Javier Aguirre:

"We had three chances before it became 1-0 and you can't explain how they weren't goals. Today we played a complete game offensively, I think. We scored three goals plus another three chances, but defensively it was the other side of the coin. We were not very solid.

"We are in the fight. We continue to get points. The next match will be in Vigo and we will have to fight hard and it will be on Monday, moreover.

"At halftime I told the players that we were playing well and that we had three chances to score and they only had one shot on goal and we were losing 1-0.

Those things that football has, inexplicable. We had to keep insisting and the players had to keep it up. We made it 1-2 and we came on well in the second half. Then with the 3-2, I saw things a bit bleak and before the penalty in the last minute.

"Both Dennis and Morales played well. I could already see in training that they were at the level we expected. We had six players missing. I think the team responded."
