RCD Mallorca B’s unbeaten form rolls on with a 2-1 defeat of Santa Catalina
Carlos Gilbert and Jaume Tovar are on target as Los Bermellones secure victory at Campo Municipal de Son Fló
RCD Mallorca B extended their unbeaten run to six games as goals from Carlos Gilbert and Jaume Tovar secured a deserved 2-1 victory at Campo Municipal de Son Fló.
Despite some admirable defensive resistance in the face of a total monopolisation of possession in the first half, Josep Gayá, Thomas Giaquinto and Gilbert were able to fashion chances for themselves that were ultimately unable to break the deadlock.
Los Bermellones persistance paid off in the 53rd minute when Gilbert capitalised on an error by Alex Marí, before Tovar put daylight between the two sides with a composed finish six minutes from the final whistle. However, the game would not end without additional drama as following a red card for Daniel Vaquer, Gaya was adjudged to have handled in the area which paved way for Joan Sapedro to register the first conceded goal this season.
RCD Mallorca B: Jesus Ruiz, Parra, Prada (56'), Gaya, Hernandez, Jaime De Las Marinas Gil (38’), Arasa (45’), Joaquin, Carlos, Thomas Giaquinto, Tovar
