RCD Mallorca and Coca-Cola partner for another beach clean-up at Port de Sóller
We took part in the Mares Circulares programme alongside 110 volunteers from the club’s youth football teams
We have teamed up with Coca-Cola for another beach clean-up at Port de Sóller as part of the Mares Circulares programme alongside 110 volunteers from the club’s youth football teams.
We managed to collect nearly 30 kilos of waste, which was subsequently sorted for recycling with the collaboration of the Chelonia Association and the support of Sóller Town Council.
This initiative follows on from the one carried out last year at the same location and forms part of the actions undertaken by Mares Circulares in the Balearic Islands, where 12 initiatives were carried out in 2025 with the participation of 673 volunteers, who helped collect over 568 kilos of waste.
The Mares Circulares programme, promoted by Coca-Cola in Spain and Portugal, has been working for nine years on three key areas: raising public awareness, the conservation and regeneration of ecosystems, and science and research. In this regard, the data collected during each initiative is analysed and incorporated into databases that support researchers and scientists in developing solutions for the preservation of marine environments.
CEO of Business, Alfonso Díaz, highlighted the importance of this type of initiative: “They reinforce our commitment to Balearic society and to the environment around us. Furthermore, involving our youth football is key to continuing to foster values such as responsibility, teamwork and respect for the environment from an early age.”
For its part, Coca-Cola highlighted the role of public-private partnerships and community involvement as key tools for moving towards a more sustainable and waste-free model. RCD Mallorca continues to develop projects that go beyond sport, actively contributing to environmental care and social awareness through sport.
