Pablo Torre: "I think after the break we are going to take a step forward"

The midfielder reflected on his first month on the island

It has been a rollercoaster first month for Pablo Torre.

Having signed for the club, faced his former side and then travelled to Real Madrid where he registered his first assist, Pablo spoke to club media to reflect on his time on the island so far.

How are you settling in with the team and your life on the island?

Very well. The truth is that since I arrived, I've had great support from all my teammates, the staff, and everyone involved with Mallorca. And honestly, it hasn't been difficult for me to adapt. I'm very happy to be here.

Which teammates have you established the best relationship with since the beginning?

I get along with everyone a little bit. The first day I arrived, as I also started playing golf a year ago, Mate (Mateu Jaume), Abdón, Sergi (Darder) and I went to play. They were the first ones, but in general I have a very good relationship with the whole team and I'm very happy.

And how about Jagoba? It's been clear from day one how much he trusts you.

Good, very good, to be honest. He gave me a lot of confidence from the moment I arrived. It was also a bit what I needed. It's true that in the end you have to earn it. I think I'm gradually doing things to earn it and I'm happy with the team.

And how are you feeling in terms of your football?

In this last match, I already felt great. It's true that you've not played much recently and it takes a bit of effort to get that extra bit of fitness. I think I'm gradually getting there and I think it's also a matter of time. And I think I can give a lot to the team if I'm physically at my best.

Another thing that has been evident from the start is that you are being cheered on by the fans. How does a new player feel about that?

Yes, I've received a lot of affection. Whether I'm walking around Palma, in the first pre-season match or even when we go to Son Moix. That affection was also something I needed. The truth is that they're giving it to me and I'm very happy. And you can also see it a bit on the pitch.

Then the league started and you were in the starting line-up against FC Barcelona, your former team. Emotionally, it was a very special match for you, wasn't it?

It was a reunion with teammates I love very much and talk to. It was a special and very difficult match because they are doing very well now. Things didn't turn out the way we wanted, we knew it was very difficult, but yes, it was a special match for me.

Mallorca has performed well so far, despite not having won yet. How would you assess the team's performance in these first three matches?

We're calm in the team. We know that, to begin with, there are no easy games in the First Division. And secondly, we've started against very difficult opponents and in the end that's what could happen, but I think the team has had a very good attitude in all the games. And I think that from here, after the break, we're going to move forward and pick up three points at a time. I'm sure of it.

And you got your first assist against Real Madrid...

At the end of the day, both Sergi and I, or whoever is playing, have good feet to set up our teammates for the finish. I think we also have some very tall players and we can do damage from set pieces. And, well, let's hope I can get many more (assists).
