Mallorca commits to women´s soccer

The Foundation launches a camp for girls and is considering creating a women´s team

Former international star and Mallorcan player, Melisa Nicolau, presented the female camp on behalf of the Reial Mallorca Foundation. The camp will be held from July 4 to 8 at the Son Bibiloni complex, for girls aged 7 to 17. This camp is an RCDM initiative aimed at promoting the sport amongst women, with activities that purport equality.

Paco Cobo, a Reial Mallorca Foundation coordinator, presented the structure of this initiative, which also includes participation in the MIFF Tournament of U-13 players and placement in the Female Soccer School. Paco did not rule out the possibility that Mallorca could unveil an amateur female team, even in such a short period of time, because “the club is committed to the growth of women´s soccer on the Islands,” he confirmed.

Understandably, Ms. Nicolau was excited about the project and for the players, and said that the girls objective “apart from learning and working is, above all, to enjoy the game.”
