Luis García Plaza: ‘We have to enjoy what we are doing’

The boss reflected on our 1-0 win at UD Logroñés in his post-match press conference

Luis García Plaza was on post-match press conference duty after we overcame UD Logroñés 1-0 at Las Gaunas. Antonio Sánchez’s 19th-minute strike proved to be the difference as we remain unbeaten away from home this season. Find out what the boss had to say about the performance, the result and the game below:

On the game...

"We have a feeling that, even in victories, to win is to get rid of an anguish.  The demand is so great to win and win that I have told the players that we must also enjoy what we are doing.

"Logroñés have been good. We weren't good in the first half. I didn't like the team. We were very dull and didn't find the way forward - I've said that to the players. In the second half we had the game under control. It's three more points and we're very happy.”

On the season...

"We've taken 15 points from 18 in the second half of the season and we have to enjoy it. From now on I think it's going to be very difficult to win these games. Each team, with different objectives, is going to fight for every point. The feeling we have in the dressing room is one of anguish, instead of enjoyment. We have to change that. Those of us at the top are very demanding. The numbers are record-breaking and we're all stuck together at the top.

"This is going to be very long and very hard. Every victory is a very important step forward. We must savour these victories. Whether the team is more or less successful, they will certainly give their all on the pitch.”

On the dressing room...

"Victories cost a lot. I've told the dressing room that they have to enjoy the victories. We have a lot of demands to stay up there, but we have to enjoy them. Now it's time to prepare for the Cartagena game. We're going to have to give everything we've got to win.”
