Javier Aguirre: “We want to take a step forward and return to getting three points”

The boss gave his thoughts ahead of our hosting of Celta Vigo

Javier Aguirre wants to get back to winning ways as we host Celta Vigo on Friday night.

Having been knocked out of the Copa Del Rey by Real Sociedad in the midweek, the boss believes we will need to be at our best to get three points.

"Celta Vigo is a team that has changed things with the change of coach,” Aguirre told journalists at his press conference. “It is a team that attacks very well, that has a great player like Iago Aspas, who likes to have the ball and is very mobile. It is a team with an offensive set up that is difficult to defend against. They will make life difficult for us.

“In Getafe we did not give the projection of ourselves that we would want, then we won in Pontevedra and at home against Real Valladolid. We went to tough places like Pamplona and San Sebastian, and there is no respite. But we are doing well, we are strong. Let's hope that against RC Celta we take that little step forward and get back to three points.

"We have 22 points [right now] and it would be important to win the next two matches to have a good first run of fixtures and not suffer as much as last year.”
