BiciPalma's first station opens at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix

Additional bicycle transport has been made available at the stadium

We are delighted to launch our first BiciPalma station at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

The Deputy Mayor of Mobility Toni Deudero, the manager of the Societat Municipal d' Aparcaments i Projectes and BiciPalma Lydia Pérez and the CEO of Business Alfonso Díaz were in attendance to launch the new station as fans will now be able to use the service to ride to the stadium.

General director of Sports David Salom and Manager of IME Miguel Ángel Bennassar were also in attendance.

The deputy mayor explained that this first station aims to facilitate travel to the stadium for users of BiciPalma on matchdays and offers additional public transport that promotes sustainable urban mobility.

To use the service, users must park the bicycle within the station area, close the lock located on the rear wheel of the bicycle and confirm the completion of the journey through the application. There is no limitation on the number of bicycles that can be left in this area.

Once the match is over, users will be able to access the same space for a trip home by bicycle.

Thanks to the BiciPalma service, Palma City Council and RCD Mallorca continue to encourage sustainable mobility for spectators and fans on their trips to the stadium which reflects our commitment to sustainability.

New stations continue to be constructed to increase the network of public bicycles and strengthen sustainable mobility in the city.

Proof of this is that SMAP, for the current year, has budgeted an item of 800,000 euros already approved by the board of directors that will expand the service with a total of 16 new stations and incorporate more than 150 electric bicycles to the current fleet, a figure that will allow the total number of electric bicycles in the fleet to grow up to 38%.

The number of electric bicycles available will also grow as the current fleet is made up of 930 bicycles, 280 of which are electric and 560 mechanical, while the number of electric bicycles will rise to 430 this year.
