Antonio Sánchez, Mateo Joseph, Jan Virgili and Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media to reflect on the defeat to Girona FC. Find out what they had to say below.
Antonio Sánchez:
On the draw: Yes, it's true that in the end, thanks to our determination and courage, we came close to equalising. It's a shame, because we have to be stronger at home.
On what was missing: We weren't accurate enough and didn't take advantage of playing at home. They felt better and better and defended the result.
On the defeat: We have to analyse the match and focus on the real problems we're having.
Mateo Joseph:
On the match: It's the little things; Girona have a very good team. Other days they'll score, so we have to stay positive and keep improving.
On the reaction: We reacted well and we have to know how to turn it around. We have to learn from this and we'll be the ones to get ahead.
Jan Virgili:
On playing until the end: It's not the best way to start the year, but it's a long season and it's not the end of the world.
On what was missing: Football is about getting things right in both areas. It's football, we have to move on and stay positive.
On his performance: As I always say, I try to help the team, I don't feel any more or less responsible than anyone else. I have to do my job and help the team.
On the next match: We have to think about next week and forget about this. It's already happened.
Jagoba Arrasate:
On the game: It's a tough defeat and a step backwards. We have to pick ourselves up. We reacted too late.
On what was missing: I think that in the first half we weren't good enough in terms of pressing or with the ball. In the second half we played more in the opposition's half, we were more ourselves. We were unlucky. We reacted, but it wasn't enough.
On the substitution of Manu for Omar: Manu was struggling with an injury after a challenge. We felt that with Omar we would be able to press more, so we made the change.
On the substitutions: We wanted to have a double reference point with Mateo and play more in the opposition's half. It's difficult to come back from two goals down. It goes on, there are a lot of teams up there and we have to finish the first half of the season in the best possible way. We have to improve on today's performance.
