Vicente Moreno: “This year has been fantastic in every sense - that will continue”

The manager analysed our defeat to Sevilla FC in his post-match press conference at Son Moix

Vicente Moreno spoke to assembled journalists following our final game of year ahead of the winter break. See what the boss had to say about a difficult 2-0 defeat to Sevilla FC, the referee’s decisions and what has been a special 2019…

On the game…

“It’s not a positive feeling when you lose. We had to face an opposition of a high level, but we have been competitive. If we want to have more options you have to put away the chances, and that’s what we had. Sevilla have won with a gol from a corner and the other from a penalty.

"Sevilla in those two significant actions have won although we have done a lot of things well. We must congratulate the team. Sevilla today have created less and that’s something we had to do.

On the referee…

"We never speak of the referees and we’re not going to do that today. Independently the images say one thing and another, I’m not going to lose time on this.

"The VAR is an idea in principal to do justice. I think that it could improve this form of doing justice. I think the latest way of doing things is posible between the things that are clear and what is not, and because of that we will return to the interpretation we had before without it. I don’t have an opinion on the referee whether we win or lose."

On the last 12 months…

"The 2019 has been fantastic in every sense. Now we depend on another game to finish the year outside of the relegation zone but it’s has been a historic year - that will continue.”
