Vicente Moreno: “The game could’ve gone either way’

The manager spoke to journalists in his post-match press conference following the defeat to Getafe CF

Vicente Moreno gave his thoughts to journalists at his post-match press conference following our 1-0 defeat to Getafe CF at Son Moix. Find out what the manager thought about the game, dropping points and the opposition.

On the game…

"It’s been a tough blow for all of us. It was better to add points. The stands have given everything, although generally I see that they are very conscious of what this is. We have not fooled anyone. If there is a chance, it all going to the same side. The result gives you lessons, but it has been very equal. If we had scored, we would have been able to win the game. Their chance has gone in the goal and it has cost us more.

"I don’t have an opinion on the referee. Every referee tries to do their best. Sometimes you are right and sometimes you are wrong. The bench should have been calmer. We should have all been calmer.

"When you play a game and you lose, you remember the player who hasn’t been there. We are not able to know if things would have been different. Budimir had discomfort and could not play. If you don’t have the one who scores the most goals, it’s harder."

On the opponent…

"Getafe is having a great season. It has been a very even game and there has not been a lot of chances on goals. Before the goal they had got a little closer, but they have a lot of quality up front."

On facing Eibar and the relegation zone...

"Today was important to win and we have not been able to do it. We have to continue to prepare next week’s game. It’s going to be very difficult, but if we want to achieve our objective we have to go there and win.

“I’m not worried what other teams are doing. The points in order to stay in this league are what they are. We have to add them, everything else I’m not concerned about. The reality is that we are where we are and that’s what it is. We have to continue. People expect and understand the difficulties that we have.”
