Takuma Asano is back in action and among the goals.
Our attacker has returned from injury in form with two goals from as many games and discussed his first season the island, his recovery and what the remainder of the campaign holds with club media. Find out what Takuma had to say below:
On his arrival on the island: “I am really happy to be here, I like everything about Mallorca. Of course, I like the team, but it's a beautiful city, with a great climate. The food is also very good.
On LaLiga: “During the six years I was in Germany I played in the Bundesliga. Then I came here and joined LaLiga, it feels different. I was used to playing in the German league, but I thought if I came to Spain I would fit in well. After coming here, I can confirm it: I feel I fit in well. I feel really good playing in LaLiga, the football is very different, but I think I adapted well.”
On home games: “Honestly, I feel different in home and away games. When we play away we have to fly everywhere and it's not easy. And, of course, at home games, the fans and the atmosphere are amazing. We always have more energy when we are with our fans. That's why I feel so good at home games.”
On the last few days: “When I first came to Mallorca, I couldn't really help the team, I couldn't score and then I had the injury, I couldn't play for a long time. I felt I had to help this team more, I had to score goals for the team and I had to run more. Just do more, more and more. And finally, I was able to score. Now I feel a little bit more relaxed, I feel like I've really started, that I can help the team more. I think I can help the team to get a better position.”
On his integration into the team: “I think I adapted quickly to the team. I talk frequently with my teammates, on the field, but also off the field, I go to dinner with them. I feel that this team is really friendly and I feel very comfortable in it. I really appreciate my teammates, they have always helped me.”
On the state of the team: “I think so far we don't have to change anything, just do everything we can and give 100%. That's what I'm doing too, I've given 100% this season. Of course, some games are bad and some are very good, that's natural. Even with good games and bad games, we keep going forward, looking to the future.”
On the future: “We have 40 points and maybe some players think that's good, that's enough. But it is not, we have to score more goals, win more, get more points. We have to give 100% in the next game and, when that game is over, focus on the next one. That's how we have to stay focused on the next game.”
