Take Kubo and Dani Rodríguez reflect upon the win over Villarreal CF

The Japanese international and Spanish midfielder spoke to the assembled press after their goals against Villarreal CF

Take Kubo scored his first La Liga goal in Mallorca colours while Dani Rodríguez registered his second strike of the season with a penalty during our 3-1 win over Villarreal at Son Moix. The pair spoke to the press after the game to reflect upon hitting the target, the importance of three points and penalties.

Take Kubo

On scoring...
“First of all I’m very happy for the team’s win and even happier that it was accompanied by my goal. On one side I thought that it had been my best game because I scored a goal, but on the other I don’t think I started the game too well but I knew how to rectify that and things went better for me after.

On pressure...
“I’m not the only young player in this league. I have to use the media fame to my favour. Sometimes there is. A lot of pressure for me but things are the way they are and I have to get over it.

On winning a penalty...
“I wanted to continue dribbling, I saw the player approach and I went into him. I think there was enough contact for it to be a penalty.”

Dani Rodríguez

On the performance...
“We knew that it was a very important game and above all difficult. We did not let them through at any time. The game was immense all the time and when we had to come together, get back and defend, and we did that really well.

On his goal...
“It was a moment of play that was a bit like against Eibar but not so central. I put it in for Lago Junior but it fell to Febas and the penalty was pretty clear. I had been asking for a couple of weeks to get a penalty from Lago Junior and I’m very grateful he let me have it.”
