Match Report: RCD Mallorca 2-1 Real Valladolid

Sergi Darder and Omar Mascarell hit the target as we come from behind to win

Sargi Darder and Omar Mascarell scored either side of half-time as we came from behind to win 2-1 against Real Valladolid.

Jagoba Arrasate opted for Dani Rodriguez in the No.10 role as Vedat Muriqi was selected to lead the attack.

The visitors took the lead in the 11th minute when Chuki put the finishing touch to an incisive counter attack.

Dominik Grief then did well to keep the scoreline at 1-0 when he produced a fine reaction save to block Chuki from close range minutes later.

We pulled level in the 28th minute when Mascarell ghosted in at the back post to poke home a deep cross.

Martin Valjent had a close-range header palmed away with minutes left of the first half as we headed into the break level.

Sergi Darder put us in front for the first time in the 49th minute when he latched onto a low cross on the edge of the box, took a touch to stead himself and found the bottom corner.

Real Valladolid thought they had provided an instant response when they got the ball in the back of the net but a VAR review ruled out the goal for offside.

Juanmi Latasa had a late chance to equalise but Grief anticipated the low cross and was quick off his line to block the striker’s attempt as we held on to ensure we took all three points.
