Pablo Ortells: "We have put together a competitive squad, with a good group of players"

CEO of Business Alfonso Díaz and Director of Football Pablo Ortells spoke to the media

CEO of Business Alfonso Díaz and Director of Football Pablo Ortell hosted a press conference following the end of the transfer window.

"We have put together a competitive squad and we have a good group of players who are smart and very hungry to compete in every game,” said Ortells. “We are happy with how the market has gone. An effort has been made to cover the needs we had and we are happy.

"The plan is for Mallorca to be in LaLiga for many years. To achieve that stability and regularity of being a LaLiga team is not easy. We have to be aware of where we come from and where we want to go, and for that we need RCD Mallorca to be in LaLiga.”

Following high temperatures during our early kick-off against Girona, Díaz says the club tried their best to get the fixture calendar altered.

"We as a club always think of our fans and defend their interests with the relevant entities,” Díaz told journalists. “On several occasions we asked the League to change the match schedule, even a month in advance. The only thing we can do is to continue working and underline our disagreement with this type of situation.

"The fans are ten out of ten. They have once again shown that they are our fans and that they are growing more and more.”

Díaz also apologised to the fans for the problems with the food and beverage service at the game and added that the club is now working with a new international operator.
