We were unlucky to fall to a 1-0 defeat against a 10-man Real Sociedad as Lobete scored a 90th minute winner at the Reale Arena.
Luis García Plaza made a number of changes to the side which beat Levante 1-0 prior to the international break. Brian Oliván return to his preferred left back position, Ángel started in attack while Rodrigo Battaglia was handed his second start for the club.
Those in attendance at the Reale Arena had to wait until the 15th minute before either side saw a sight of goal as the hosts’ Navarro found himself space to get a shot away at goal following a clever pass from Adnan Januzaj, although his effort flew safely over the bar.
Manolo Reina was called into action 17 minutes later as Mikel Merino managed to get a touch onto an in-swinging corner, however our shot stopper made a fine reaction save to tip away from danger.
Alexander Isak had the ball int eh back of the net before the break, but it was thankfully ruled out for a clear offside.
The first half was not to end without some late drama as Ahien received his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
The man advantage saw us start the following 45 minutes well as Angél was denied a fine goal in the 54th minute for a handball in the build-up.
Both sides were limited to half chances until the 90th minute when Lobete got lucky with a strike which Reina was unable to palm away from the bottom corner to see us leave the north of Spain empty handed.
