The trio reflected on the 1-1 stalemate at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix
Martin Valjent, Manu Morlanes and Dennis Hadžikadunić reflected on our 1-1 draw with Athletic Club at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix. Kang in Lee gave us the lead early in the second half, but we had to settle for a point after Inaki WIliams scored a late equaliser from the penalty spot. Find out what the trio had to say:
Martin Valjent
"We have a different feeling than we expected from the game we played. Within our style, obviously, a great job has been done. We are a little bit out of that happiness. We already had the 43 points within reach, but we'll keep working hard. This is a journey, there are six games left. I’m proud of our work but it is a shame.
"We defended the last thirty minutes with our lives. I'm excited because we were very close to the goal, but nothing happened. There are six more games and we have to be proud of the work we are doing and more so against a team like Athletic Bilbao.
"We have to keep working hard in the games we have left and surely people are going to be proud of us."
Manu Morlanes
"We're annoyed because in the end it's a shame that, day after day, we end up with the same feeling that there are certain things we don't understand. I think the VAR has arrived to do justice, and maybe it's that we don't understand the rule well. It's something that needs to be solved.
"There is a very clear handball before Galarreta's handball. I don't understand why the VAR didn't warn him. All the teams are the same, with this feeling that we don't understand how the rule is applied.
"Today it was a giant step towards certifying our safety. This team has an incredible soul. Whoever goes out, leaves his life on the field. The fans have shown that they are with the team and that there is a very good harmony. It's a pity that we can't celebrate ensuring our survival.”
Dennis Hadžikadunić
"Logically we deserved more. We are very disappointed with what happened in the last seconds. Now we need to recover and start thinking about the next game. A point is good, but we would have liked to have made it three."
