Javier Aguirre: We have still not achieved anything, but we are close

The boss looked ahead to our clash Girona

Javier Aguirre says his side must remain focused on getting three points ahead of our clash with Girona.

We travel to the Estadio de Montilivi looking to build on our draw with Athletic Club at home and secure our place in LaLiga for another season, but the boss believes we must remain grounded to get anything from our trip.

"You can't dwell on misfortunes or even big news, because you become vulnerable,” said Aguirre during his pre-match press conference when asked about dropping points to Athletic Club in the last moments of the game. “We still haven't achieved anything.

“We are close, it is true. We are competing every game with our weapons and with our squad. Every game is important for us.

Aguirre also provided an injury update as to our squad and revealed he will be giving youth a chance.

"The news is that Augustinsson is back, although he came to the bench last game, but now he is better,” he continued. “He has gained two or three more days. He has some discomfort, but I prefer him to be there. It's a good time for him to be here. It's the end of the league, so everything counts.

“There is fatigue as in each team. I'll take three guys from the reserve team. Maffeo and Toni Amor are suspended.”
