Manolo Reina, Dani Rodríguez and Martin Valjent analyse the 1-0 win over RCD Espanyol

The trio reflected upon our victory at the Visit Mallorca Estadi as we remain unbeaten this season

Manolo Reina, Dani Rodríguez and Martin Valjent were on media duties after we defeated RCD Espanyol. Dani Rodríguez’s first-half strike was the difference at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. Find out what the trio had to say below:

On the match...

Manolo Reina: "We are very happy. We deserved three points. We were superior to them at all times. The team worked very well and we could have scored more. It is an honour to play with this team and - above all - with the fans. It was a 10/10 day.”

Dani Rodríguez: "I like to score and for the team to win - I’m very happy about that. We played a very intense match and I think we have limited a great rival. We took three very important points. They leave with the feeling of not having been there at all, but that was down to us and our performance.”

Martin Valjent: "Today we felt the energy of the fans and it was as if they were 20,000. They are a very important part for us. We are going to need them a lot and they always give us a big push.”

On the team...

Manolo Reina: "I'm not thinking about the points. This is very long and we have to keep our feet on the ground. Obviously, everything we add now is welcome, but in the end all I want is the humility and sacrifice of this whole team every game. We have quality and those who have come here come to get points.”

Dani Rodríguez: "Whoever comes in and whoever plays, the team is competitive. This is the basis for this year. The work is non-negotiable. We already have seven points and we have to continue like this.”

Martin Valjent: "This team is improving year after year and with the new signings we are more complete. Now we can grow as a club. We have seven points, which is very good, but this season will be very long and very difficult. We will have good and bad spells, which will be difficult, but we will keep going as a team.”
