Llotja Presidencial Miquel Contestí

The ex-president has been honoured at the club with his name now adorning our presidential box

RCD Mallorca paid an emotional tribute to Miquel Contestí today by naming the VIP box at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix the Miquel Contestí Presidential Box.

The ceremony was attended by his children, Malena and Toni; Margalida Garau, president of the Penya Mallorquinista de Llucmajor Miquel Contestí—an organisation with special ties to the memory of the former Mallorca president; and Cati Guasp, a club employee who has always been close to the Contestí family.

Representing RCD Mallorca were Andy Kohlberg, club president; Alfonso Díaz, Corporate CEO; and Román Albarrán, director of the Social Department.

The tribute included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque bearing Miquel Contestí’s name in the Presidential Box itself. The club also took an official photograph of the moment as a memento of this recognition, which aims to highlight Contestí’s career, commitment, and the indelible mark he left on the history of Mallorca football. Additionally, the family was presented with a plaque identical to the one that will remain at the stadium.

An Unforgettable Memory

Miquel Contestí Cardell, born in s’Arenal de Llucmajor in 1933 and who passed away on January 2, 2026, is one of the most influential and respected figures in the history of RCD Mallorca. He served as president for 14 years, during a pivotal period for the club.

His legacy is closely tied to the club’s survival and growth which is why the Presidential Box has been chosen as the space that best reflects his legacy, his leadership, and his connection to the presidency of Mallorca.

In addition to this recognition, Contestí’s legacy will also be featured in the visual identity of Estadi Mallorca Son Moix with the creation of a mural dedicated to the former president.

The work, by artist René Mäkelä, will be unveiled soon.
