We were named the best club in the history of the Balearic Islands this Saturday at the Centennial Gala of the Balearic Islands Football Federation (FFIB).
The 'Premi Rafael Puelles' award, introduced at this year’s event held at Son Amar, is the highest collective honor in Balearic soccer and is named after the federation’s former distinguished president. T
The current head of the Balearic federation, Jordi Horrach, and the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Louzán, presented the award to the club’s president, Andy Kohlberg.
Likewise, the Bermellón team, along with other clubs from the islands, received ‘L'escut d'Or del Centenari de la FFIB’ for its more than 100 years of existence. These two distinctions highlight the role, history, and importance of RCD Mallorca both in Balearic football and within its society and community.
Meanwhile, former Mallorca players Miquel Àngel Nadal and Llorenç Serra Ferrer, along with figures such as Virginia Torrecilla and Miguelín, were awarded the Miquel Nadal Prize, the highest individual honor, which also pays tribute to a former president of the FFIB. Illes Balears Palma Futsal was likewise awarded the aforementioned 'Premi Rafael Puelles'.
RCD Mallorca's Corporate CEO, Alfonso Díaz, attended the gala and spoke to the media. Díaz emphasized "how important it is for the club to receive this tribute from the Balearic Football Federation in such a significant year as its 110th anniversary."
Furthermore, Toni Tugores, the club's delegate for matches at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, served on the committee for the Balearic Football Federation's centenary celebrations.
RCD Mallorca also highlighted the work carried out by the FFIB (Balearic Football Federation) regarding football in the islands and congratulated the institution on its 100th anniversary.
