Our forward spoke to club media ahead of South Korea's opening game in Qatar
Kang-in Lee is living the dream.
Our forward has been called up to South Korea’s World Cup squad for the first time and cannot wait to get started in Qatar.
"I am very happy to be able to go to the World Cup with my national team and represent my country,” he told club media. “Now the most beautiful thing remains.
“Since I was a child, the World Cup is a dream for every footballer. I've always wanted to play in the World Cup since I was a kid - it's a dream. I'm looking forward to living what the top competition is and I think I can learn many things and many experiences that will help me during my career.”
South Korea face Uruguay, Portugal and Ghana in Group H, although Kang-in Lee knows he will have plenty of support back home.
"They all congratulated me when I was called up,” he continued. “The coach told me that I deserved it and good luck.
“I want to thank the coaching staff and my team-mates - without them I would not have been able to go to a World Cup. They helped me a lot – let’s now enjoy it.”
