Javier Aguirre has stressed the importance of our home form in the run in to the end of the season ahead of our hosting of relegation rivals Deportivo Alavés. 

We will be looking to distance ourselves from the bottom of the table with three points on Tuesday evening, although the boss believes we are have to remain focused on the task at hand.

"I always repeat that we depend on ourselves, but it is true that you look at the table out of the corner of your eye,” he told journalists at his pre-match press conference. “Our state of mind is very important to us, but what is clear is that if you don't do your own thing, what the others do is useless.

"We have to be strong at home – whoever the opponent may be - and away we have to do our best. Our obligation is to play good football and win. Against Deportivo Alavés we will have to go out for the match, get the three points, please the fans, run, fight, and play better football.

"We need a little step forward. My body is now asking me for balance. Mistake is human but I want there to be will. We are very motivated for tomorrow.”
