Javier Aguirre: "Let's hope that we can give some joy to the brave who come"

The boss looked ahead to our clash with Cadiz CF in his pre-match press conference

Javier Aguirre looked ahead to our clash with Cadiz CF on Wednesday evening at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix. Find out what the boss had to say below:

On Amath’s miss at the Civitas Metropolitano: "Today he had the same in training and it went in. I understand that there are 80,000 people, but the player is the same and the situation is the same.”

On team morale: "I am very sensitive to the mood of the players and I see them well. There is no reason for alarm. The players are very calm. They are aware that the points they have acquired are not indicative of the team's performance. But that doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is the result.”

On the quality of strikers: "It's not a question of quality, we know the quality of Abdón and Larín. They have their faults like everyone else. It's a question of their heads and their composure.”

On making calculations for safety: "With 15 seasons and more than 500 games in LaLiga, I know that this leads to nothing. We have to be in the top 17 in June.”

On youth academy: "We have to keep growing, taking kids from the youth academy. We train with six or seven every week and they do very well, you will see them. They are knocking on the door.”

On Cádiz CF: "It is one of our teams, one of these six or seven teams that are there. It's hard for us to win. They started well, but now they are in a slump like us. This gives them a special tone for this match. Two teams in need of points.

On possible loss of Ledesma: "Ledesma, if it happens, is a tough loss. But I saw Gil last year and he is a goalkeeper from head to toe.”

On the points needed to be safe: "I think so. We hope not to find ourselves there in 20 games gritting our teeth. But I think it seems that this year it could be with less points.”

On Raillo’s injury: "The ankle joint is very complex. It has many bones and ligaments, and he had some discomfort there that did not allow him to be there. He basically was in pain.

On Muriqi’s injury: "Muriqi is in bad shape, he has a long injury of four or five weeks. He won't be able to play these three or four matches.”

On the atmosphere in the stadium: "I understand that people have priorities and tomorrow they have school. But let's hope that the brave ones who come can be happy and that the people watching at home can also sleep happy and calm because they can see a team that played well and won the match.”

On pressure from social networks: "I understand that today's players have an extra pressure that they didn't have before. I am learning this. Nowadays a journalist asks you about something that came from social networks. I will not have social networks, but I must learn to live with them.”
