Having played a key role at the U-20 World Cup for Spain, Jan Virgili has returned to the island and is ready to give his all for the club. Find out what our young forward had to say about his international experience, journey and development.
After being one of the key figures for the Spanish national team at the U-20 World Cup and gaining even more confidence, Jan Virgili returns to the island eager to play again in the red and white jersey and reconnect with the fans at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix. This is what the young striker had to say upon his return to Mallorca.
On the U-20 World Cup: "I think being able to play in a U-20 World Cup is an incredible experience that any kid would want. Personally, I'm quite satisfied. I've been able to help the team as much as I could, and above all, now I'm really looking forward to helping Mallorca."
On confidence gained: "I've had a lot of minutes, and above all, I've gained confidence. Despite leaving with a lot of confidence after the match against Atlético de Madrid, it's gone very well for me."
On returning to the island: "I really enjoyed seeing my teammates again and chatting with them for a while. We talked a bit about how the World Cup went and what the atmosphere is like here, in Mallorca. We all talked about how we have to be at our best, that there's an important stretch of the league coming up, and that we have to get points."
On stability in Mallorca: "When I arrived, I was here for a few days and then left with the national team, and when I came back, I was here for two weeks and then left again. I'm looking forward to getting some stability in Mallorca, for it to be like home, and, above all, to playing at Son Moix again, which I think is spectacular, and helping the team."
On Jagoba Arrasate: "He welcomed me very well from day one. In fact, I'm here thanks to him, who loved me and trusted me, and I'm eager to return that."
On advancing in a short time: "Two years ago I was playing for the National Youth Team at Nàstic de Tarragona, and now I'm in LaLiga. Yes, everything has happened very quickly, but I'm taking it very naturally. Above all, I have to remain humble, because without humility you won't get anywhere, and I have to keep moving forward."
On Sevilla: "Ultimately, we have to go all out, believe in ourselves, we have a great team, and whoever comes, we'll stand up to them."
