Gustavo Siviero will take charge of our hosting of Real Sociedad and spoke to the media ahead of the fixture.
On how week went: “It wasn't difficult. When you do what you love, you enjoy it. And the players made it much easier.”
On whether he spoke to Martín Demichelis: “I spoke to him. He called me yesterday and we were able to talk.”
On when he found out he would take the match: “They let me know the day before training, but that's not too relevant. When things like this happen, the whole structure prepares for whatever the club might need, and that's how it's been.”
On what Mallorca wants to see: "We haven't had much time to make too many changes. We have focused on issues that we believe are important, but everyone's intention is to compete at the level required. I think we're going to do very well."
On what he talked about with Demichelis: “First, we talked about formal issues, and then I sensed tremendous enthusiasm. He is very eager and energetic, and that is very important.”
On how he found the squad: “I found them to be in good shape, very receptive, collaborative, and ready to do what is needed at this moment. We are all here to collaborate, and I have found that same response in the players. I know them all. They understand that I am just another collaborator and that we are all here for the same thing. The players know what is at stake for the team and will act accordingly.”
On the game plan: “We will try to surprise them by making better use of the team's weapons, which are varied and can be effective. And hopefully we can push the game forward.”
On the opponent's defensive set pieces: “We've watched them a lot and analyzed them. We've taken advantage of the work that the whole staff has been doing and we've tried to work on all those aspects, within the time we've had, to play a game that's up to the circumstances.”
On if he has spoken to Jagoba Arradate: “Of course I've spoken to him. He has always treated the people at the club very well. We talked about many things, but above all about how he was and about making ourselves available to him for whatever he needed.”
On how to hurt Real Sociedad: "They suffer from set pieces and in the box. We're going to have to try to get into their box a lot and make things difficult for them. Cut off their play so they don't get ahead of themselves and take advantage of opportunities."
On refereeing a First Division match with RCD Mallorca: “It's a huge thrill. I'll try to live in the moment, enjoy it, and make the most of it. Having the chance to referee a First Division match is something to enjoy and highlight.”
On managing just one game: “I was very clear about my role from the start. I knew it was going to be like that. To focus on enjoying the moment and, above all, on collaborating and contributing.”
On how approaches the game: “With the utmost responsibility. I'm a club man and we've worked as we believed we had to in order to win the game.”
On tactical changes and changes to the starting eleven compared to Arrasate's Mallorca: “It's very difficult to revolutionize things in three days, but we'll try to make some adjustments.”
