To mark the premiere of the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, Disney+ is unveiling a special collaboration with RCD Mallorca that links the superhero’s universe with one of Spanish football’s most iconic clubs through a shared narrative: the ability to rise above adversity.
Football is a key communication channel for connecting with Marvel’s audiences and, in particular, with Daredevil fans. In this context, RCD Mallorca becomes the natural partner for bringing the spirit of Born Again into the real world. Both share a history marked by moments of darkness followed by powerful comebacks, embodying values such as resilience, identity and overcoming adversity.
Although they belong to different universes, Daredevil and RCD Mallorca share a surprisingly similar iconography: red and black as their main colours, a devil as a symbol — the iconic ‘Dimonió’ — and key figures such as Sergi Darder, one of the most recognisable players in Spanish football, whose name phonetically evokes Daredevil himself.
The collaboration centres on a series of audiovisual pieces. Firstly, a teaser, released on 30 March, starring Sergi Darder. And secondly, a hero video premiering today, 1 April, featuring the team captain, Antonio Raíllo, alongside Sergi Darder, Mateo Joseph and Pablo Torre. The pieces bring to life the fighting spirit and resilience that define the series, positioning ‘Born Again’ as the central theme of the campaign’s message.
The campaign will be rolled out across the club’s main channels and touchpoints. It will culminate during one of the most important fixtures of the season for RCD Mallorca: the match against Real Madrid, to be played on 4 April, making this moment the major highlight of the collaboration’s visibility.
About the second season of Daredevil: Born Again
Over eight tension-filled episodes, the story explores themes of survival, resistance and redemption, as the battle for the soul of New York begins.
The series, created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord and Matt Corman, stars Charlie Cox as the masked vigilante Daredevil, also known as Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
The first and second seasons of Daredevil: Born Again are available exclusively on Disney+.
