RCD Mallorca celebrates its “RCD Mallorca Soccer Camp” in Japan with Shimizu S-Pulse

We travelled to Japan to deliver various youth training sessions to more than 50 promising players

RCD Mallorca, in collaboration with its partner club Shimizu S-Pulse, held its second edition of the “RCD Mallorca Soccer Camp in Japan” on November 15th and 16th.

Sponsored by Taica Corporation, the event took place at the Shimizu National Training Center J-STEP and brought together 52 young footballers, who had the opportunity to experience firsthand the methodology of the Mallorca Academy, developed over years in the top tier of LaLiga.

During the two days, the participants completed four two-hour training sessions, each followed by a period of reflection and analysis.

This format reflects one of the pillars of our youth football development: fostering player autonomy, decision-making skills, and continuous improvement. The progress shown by the children in such a short time was remarkable.

In addition to the on-field activities, the programme included a presentation about the RCD Mallorca Academy and a basic Spanish language workshop, broadening the experience to encompass our culture and values and promoting a more international perspective on learning.

The camp also featured special appearances by footballers Togo Umeda and Zento Uno, who spent time with the youngsters offering technical advice, answering questions, and taking photos. Their presence was one of the most inspiring moments of the event.

New this year was a daytime option, an alternative to the traditional overnight camp. This allowed families to choose the pace that best suited their needs: a lighter experience for those attending a camp for the first time, or a full immersion for those who preferred to live with their peers and experience football intensively.

At the end of the camp, Shinpei Sugiyama was chosen as the programme's MVP. As part of his recognition, he will travel to Mallorca in March 2026 for in-person training with RCD Mallorca (between five and seven days, dates to be confirmed).

RCD Mallorca will continue to expand its training programs in Japan, reaffirming its commitment to developing young talent and fostering the growth of international football.

We express our sincere gratitude to Shimizu S-Pulse for their collaboration, Taica Corporation for their support, and all the families involved in this edition for their participation.
