Match Report: FC Barcelona 1-0 RCD Mallorca

Dani Olmo’s strike is the difference on the evening

We were unfortunate to suffer a 1-0 defeat to FC Barcelona as Dani Olmo’s 46th minute strike proved to be the difference on the evening.

Jagoba Arrasate opted for Cyle Larin to lead the line, Mateu Jaume was selected at right back and Leo Roman made his first start in months.

We had a handful of early chances in the opening minutes but were unable to take advantage and get an effort on target.

The hosts soon found their rhythm and while they may have had the majority of possession, they were unable to create much of note.

There would be drama in the closing stages of the first half as Jaume had a goal ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Finishing the half the stronger side, we headed into the break goalless despite also having the best chance to open the scoring.

Olmo gave FC Barcelona the lead in the 46th minute when he found space in the box to curl a shot into the far corner.

Antonio Raíllo came closest to providing a response when his header missed the target by a matter of inches.

We continued to try and find an equaliser and pushed hard, but our efforts were not rewarded with an equaliser as we succumbed to defeat.
