Dani Rodríguez and Manolo Reina discuss our 3-0 win over SD Ponferradina

The goalscorer and October’s Player of the Month spoke to club media after a productive night in front of goal at the Visit Mallorca Estadi

Dani Rodríguez and Manolo Reina couldn’t hide their delight as we moved into second position at the end of Matchday 11 courtesy of a 3-0 win over SD Ponferradina. Find out what the goalscorer and shot stopper had to say about our performance, the goals and the title challenge below:

On the game...

Dani Rodríguez: “We’ve had an okay start to the game, but we were effective. On other days, it has been the opposite. We’re a competitive team and can be at the top. It was a fair result. Before the match I had the feeling that I was going to have a good game in terms of scoring without placing so much importance on it.”

Manolo Reina: “Today we have put away three goals. We have great players who can score. We’re a really united team and we need to continue like that.”

On his goals...

Dani Rodríguez: “I’m very happy about the goals, but also because the goals have helped us get the win. We’re now among the direct promotion spots, and although it’s early, we have to be there. For me it’s new to have five goals already at this point in the season. I look forward to continuing and being able to contribute and still believe we can do it.”

On being voted La Liga Smartbank’s Player of the Month for October...

Manolo Reina: “The trophy is for the team. We all do a good job and what better way to celebrate it than with a victory. There's a lot [of the season] left, but I’m very pleased. We’ve got to go game by game and little by little and at the end of the season we will see where we are.”
