The Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio hosted a charity organised by the Association of Journalists of the Balearic Islands (APIB) and the Fundació Reial Mallorca. 

Held between journalists and young people with intellectual disabilities from RCD Mallorca Genuine the final score was 7-4. 

Ultra-marathon runner Tòfol Castanyer took the ceremonial kickoff for the match, which was attended by the Regional Minister of Housing, Territory, and Mobility, José Luis Mateo. The match was officiated by certified referee Llàtzer Crespí Barrera.

The goals for the APIB team were scored by Iván Sánchez Durán, Angy Galvín, Adrián Garrido, Sergi Bisquerra, Esteban Ramón (2), and Lluís Gimeno. For the Genuine team, the goals were scored by Mateo, Sasha, Martí, and Rubén.

The APIB team lineup consisted of Toni Sánchez Grao and Manuel Aguilera, vice presidents; Edu Colom (El Mundo); Lluís Gimeno (mallorcadiario); Sergi Bisquerra (Ultima Hora); Dani Frau (Marca); Angy Galvín (elDiario.es); Esteban Ramón (IB3); Sebas Canals (Fibwi); Adrián Garrido, a player for Andratx; María Vecino; Iván Sánchez Durán, a youth player for Palmanyola; and Tomás Sánchez, a junior player for Esporlas, with Regional Minister José Luis Mateo as a guest.

The Genuine team, made up of participants from the Mallorca Integra Foundation, included Juan Antonio Arrones, David Bennàsar, Mateo Matute, Tommy, Nico Donaire, Mateo Castelló, Sasha, Bastian, Pedro, Hugo Espinosa, Rubén, Juanma Pérez, Jaime Serra, Martí Vich, Tomás Pons, Armando Sánchez, Toni Manu González, and Pau Martínez.

The Association of Journalists of the Balearic Islands (APIB) is thus reviving its “Solidarity Match” project, with the collaboration of El Corte Inglés.

Through this initiative, it aims to engage journalists, media outlets, athletes, businesses, and the public in charitable causes by combining sports and journalism, as well as to support Balearic organizations recognized for their charitable work and contributions to society. The Fundació Reial Mallorca promotes social and educational projects that use sports as a tool to foster inclusion, instill values, and create a positive impact on Mallorcan society.
