Ante Budimir: ‘We’re preparing well this week and that makes us calm’
The striker previewed our clash with Real Valladolid in a pre-match press conference
Ante Budimir believes RCD Mallorca are in good stead ahead of this Saturday’s clash with Real Valladolid on Matchday 22 of La Liga.
With Los Pucelanos currently sitting just four points ahead of us in 16th position, the striker believes we’ll have to be at our best to stand a chance of taking what could be a crucial three points come the end of the season.
“You have to be very focused because they were a team very dangerous," he told journalists. "At the back they are very physical and up top they have players can score at whatever moment. We will have to give our highest level and have an intense and organised game in order to have a chance.
“It’s a game that is worth a lot but as well as this we have 16 games to go. We don’t have to play for outlives on Saturday, but we remember how the away game was with them and that Saturday we want to see a Mallorca strong at home.”
Having lost 3-0 away from home to Real Valladolid earlier in the campaign, Budimir says we can’t rely solely on home advantage to achieve victory.
“We have won a lot of games at home, but just because we’re playing at Son Moix doesn’t mean we’re going to win," he added. "We’re preparing very well in the week and that’s what makes us calm.
"It’s true that until now we haven’t won away from home but also that’s part of the road and process. At the end I’m sure that we will have won away from home. But our objective is the game on Saturday.”
