As we once again finished in LaLiga's top 10, our owner Andy Kohlberg reflected on another season and has set our objective for next year: to go one step further.
In a wide-ranging interview, Kohlberg discussed ambition, changing our competitive approach and the importance of our fans in our growth.
How would you assess the season overall?
If you told me a year ago that we would finish in tenth position, fighting for the Europa League and the Conference League, with two games to go, I would be very happy. So, overall, it's a good season. We would have liked to continue our great momentum, to do the same in the second round as we did in the first round, but we have to learn and improve for next season because the rest of the teams are going to do it and we can't be left behind. We have great ambition, but overall it has been a good season.
What does the team need to improve to keep growing?
One of the things we have to learn is to insist and insist, to look up and not behind ensuring our permanence in the category, it is the most important thing in the next season, to make that transition, to continuously strive to be at the top of the table instead of worrying about how the bottom is and that is to have another mentality. We all have to think one game at a time. It is important to have that mentality regardless of whether we score 30 points in the first round. Every game is important regardless of the team you have in front of you, whether it's a smaller rival or a rival like Real Madrid or FC Barcelona, it's the same three points and we have to focus on every game for this upcoming season.
What is your message to the fans?
We appreciate our fans very much. Every year we have been growing and we want to continue to do so. The new stadium has been key for the club and especially for the fans, we have to keep growing and we have many opportunities to continue in this way.
