Javier Aguirre: We want to continue with good feelings at home

The boss looked ahead to our clash with Athletic Bilbao

Javier Aguirre wants our good form at home to continue ahead of our hosting of Athletic Bilbao.

We can take another step towards safety with points at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix but face the side which previously knocked us out of the Copa del Rey.

"It's a very complicated match,” Aguirre told the press. “In the first leg they had many more chances than us and the 0-0 draw was not the fairest. But that's the nature of football, and this point is one more of those we have achieved.

“They are an opponent that comes from a very painful defeat, against Sevilla in the last minute, and they are very vertical. They are going to demand a lot from us.

“"We at home have to go out for the match, we have to play better with the ball. We played a good game here against Getafe CF and we want to continue with a good feeling at home to make it three wins out of three. I think that one more victory would be enough to secure our safety.”

Antonio Raíllo renewed his contract earlier this week and our boss could not hide his happiness at having our centre back put pen to paper.

"I had Raíllo in Españyol B and I never imagined what he would become as a player,” he continued. “I came to Mallorca and I realise his level of leadership, on and off the pitch, which is spectacular. His renewal was a great success for both parties, the board and the player. I am happy that he has renewed.”
