The hosts a tribute event for the las peñas of RCD Mallorca

Alfonso Díaz y Román Albarrán welcomed fans to the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix ahead of the 110th anniversary celebrations

RCD Mallorca brought together representatives from the club’s supporters’ clubs at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Thursday to thank them and pay tribute to their work, commitment and loyalty to the club.

CEO of Business Alfonso Díaz; sporting director Pablo Ortells; and Director of Social Affairs Román Albarrán welcomed the approximately 70 attendees to an emotional event that highlighted an important part of RCD Mallorca’s fanbase. The club has more than 86 supporters’ clubs and 6,000 members.

In his speech, Díaz stated that “RCD Mallorca cannot be understood without its supporters’ clubs”, highlighting their “commitment, loyalty and pride”. The club’s Corporate CEO also spoke of the growth in the number of supporters’ clubs, some of which are located far from the island and even outside Spain, something which, according to him, demonstrates “that this spirit knows no borders.”

Díaz thanked and praised the “crucial” role played by the supporters’ club members and concluded his speech by saying: “We are celebrating 110 years of history, and if this anniversary teaches us anything, it is that Mallorca has come this far thanks to its people”.

This event is just one of the activities the Club is organising to mark its 110th anniversary. Among other events, RCD Mallorca paid tribute in January to its season ticket holders who have been with the club for over 25 and 50 years.
