We draw Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey semi final

The two-legged semi final will take place over February

We have been drawn against Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey semi final.

The two-legged semi final will first take place at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Tuesday, February 6 at 2100 while the second leg will be played at the Reale Arena in San Sebastian on Tuesday, February 27 at 2130.

This will be the fifth semi final in our history having last reached the final four in the 2008-2009 season where we were eliminated against the eventual champions FC Barcelona.

Both teams know what it is like to lift the trophy – we did it in 2003 after beating Recreativo de Huelva 3-0, while Real Sociedad have won the competition on three occasions, most recently four years ago.

Our journey to the semi-final saw us beat CD Boiro (0-4), CD Valle de Egüés (0-3), Burgos CF (0-3), CD Tenerife (0-1) and Girona FC (3-2). La Real, meanwhile, saw off CE Andratx (0-1), Málaga CF (0-1), CA Osasuna (0-2) and RC Celta de Vigo (1-2).

Until their respective quarter-final matches, both the bermellones and the txuri-urdin were the only teams that had not conceded a goal.

The winner of the tie will play the final on April 6 at La Cartuja stadium in Seville against the winner of the other semi-final between Athletic Club and Atletico Madrid.

Dani Rodríguez's statement:

"We wanted the second leg at home, but enjoying a semifinal and having one of the matches played at home is already a lot. We want to see a Son Moix fit to burst. We are very excited. The three rivals were very powerful and Real is one of them. They are very intense and have very good players, but we will try to take advantage in the first leg. We can be a difficult opponent in two legs. Nobody can beat us in terms of enthusiasm and desire. We have to put all our magic together to make Son Moix roar again."
