Vicente Moreno: ‘Our away form is different due to the aggression in the opponent’s area’
Vicente Moreno says his side must improve in the final third ahead of our trip to Real Valladolid this Sunday.
We’ve yet to register three points on the road this season and the boss believes Los Bermellones have lacked a killer instinct to see out games.
“The difference between our home and away from is the aggression in the opponent’s area,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “When we're close to the box it has to be translated into a form of forcefulness.
“The other day against CA Osasuna we wanted to win but the realityty is that we didn’t see out game, which leaves us annoyed. We did a lot to win the game in the first 75 minutes.”
Our clash at the Estadio José Zorrilla will be our third game in eight days and Moreno says team must be at their best to get a result - even if the hosts head into the match having lost 5-1 at Camp Nou earlier in the week.
“Every team is exposed when they play Real Madrid or FC Barcelona,” he said. “They have improved their squad in respect to the previous year and they’re a good team and they’re strong at home.
“The physical concern doesn’t worry us, now every is objective and measurable. The other day we ran more and we were more intense in the second half. With the exception of Real Sociedad, we have always ran more than the opposition. In every game you have to try and put out the best team possible.”
