Vicente Moreno: ‘I want to win the game to boost morale’
The boss spoke to journalists in this pre-match press conference prior to our trip to RCD Espanyol
Vicente Moreno says winning an “important game” against RCD Espanyol could serve as a positive boost ahead of the remainder of the campaign.
We travel to the RCDE Stadium looking to record out first win away from home of the season on Sunday, and Moreno believes there’s more to play for than just three points.
“It’s a very important game for us and also for the opposition,” he told journalists. “If we win we will have to continue and if we lose we will finish the Matchday in a worse position. I would like to win the game to boost morale. We’re playing against a good team but if we win we will continue to be outside the relegation zone.
“We don’t have to don’t need to have ups and downs but winning or by losing. There is no need for that, you have to keep a line within the mood of the squad and football always gives you a new opportunity. Now we have the we have to take advantage of that.”
Despite victory ensuring we remain outside of the drop zone, Moreno says his side must enjoy playing at such a historic stadium in addition to securing a favourable result.
“It’s a game to enjoy. We’re going to RCD Espanyol’s pouch and which is going to be full and with all it’s history, you have to enjoy it by competing and winning. It’s a very important game and you have to go and win no matter what.”
