Leonardo Koutris: ‘I felt like I was in a family when I arrived’

The new signing spoke to Play Red about joining the club and his goals for the season

Leonardo Koutris says the welcome he has received from his new team-mates has allowed him to hit the ground running at Son Moix.

The left back joined on loan from Olympiacos just a few days prior to the transfer window shutting, and believes he is ready to help the side fight for survival.

“From the first day, the welcome has been good,” he told Play Red. “They showed that we are a great family, they welcomed me very well and also the technical staff of the people around the club. This is very good and from the first time that I came here, I felt that I was a in a great family.

“I have a little but of experience of Champions League, Europa league and with the national team for some games. With the help of the others, I will bring my own things technically and tactically, so with all this and the help of my other team-mates, I think I will fit for the first week I’m here. They are all perfect. They welcomed me very well. They have been very good and that’s helped me a lot.”

Playing football outside of Greece for the first time in his career, the 24-year-old is keen to learn a different style of football.

“My first impression were the things I had thought about coming here: a lot of running, a lot of tactics and a lot of technique, because this league has all of this so I have come prepared,” he said. “I have found a team that runs a lot, has good technique and good tactics.

“That’s very important in this league and I’m glad that I’m going to learn something different from Spanish football.”
